Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

the eliminating rounds for the Ail-England Lorry Driver of the Year Competition at Coventry (July 1), Oxford (July 15), Leeds (July 22), Slough (August 19) and Portsmouth (date unknown) are announced today so that entrants may begin to practise. Additional tests may be introduced at the discretion of local promoters. Tests to be used in the final cornpetition at Bramcote on September 23 will be different.

Instructions for the compulsory tests are as follows:— Test 1: At A the competitor instructs, by visual observation, the marshal at B to adjust the pylons x-x to the minimum distance through which he thinks it is possible for his vehicle to pass. He then drives to B and similarly instructs the marshal at C. He drives forward to stop with the rearmost wheels in line with the pylons x-x.

Test 2: Drive from starting line D to E and stop with the front wheels on line y-y. Reverse and halt in enclosure F, centrally and parallel with the sides, and as near as possible to line z-z. The enclosure will be 6 in. wider than the widest vehicle in each class.
