WOULD OPERATORS USE THE NEW ROUTE?
John Cooper, director of Staffordshire firm JW Cooper Transport, says: We don't use the M6 Toll because it's too expensive; I don't know of any local operators that do. We might consider using the new route if the tolls were cut dramatically."
Martin Wiles, director of Peterborough firm BC Wiles & Sons, says that ft doesn't use the M6 Toll because of the price: "The new road won't be used by operators unless the tolls are reduced and it gives value for money" Steve Cope, transport manager
for Stan Robinson (Stafford), which sends 25 or so trucks a day south along the M6, says none are being diverted along
the M6 Toll: "It's too expensive, but if prices were reduced a lot then we may consider using the new route."
Geoff Martin, who runs Rugeley firm Geoff Martin Transport, says: "It is far too expensive for trucks and our customers are not willing to pay any extra for us to use the toll. We might consider it if the price was £.4 or U. But the simple fact is that they don't want trucks on the toll road."
