• Mike Mudie, joint founder of Mercedes-Benz dealer Mudie-Bond, has left the company following a disagreement with investing non-executive directors over policy.

"I think things came to a crunch," says a spokesman for Tewkesbury-based Mudle-Bond.

It is understood that Mudie, who started up the business with Richard Bond in 1987, "has got plenty of irons in the fire". He Is a well-known industry figure, being chairman of the Retail Motor Industry Federation's truck committee.

Following Mudie's departure Brian Wiltshire has been appointed joint managing director.
