PETER R WHITE, Senior Lecturer, Transport Studies Group Polytechnic of Central London. dangers of low bridges, stated: "Bridges up to 16ft 6in are marked . . ."

In fact, as our Code points out, this statement should have been qualified "usually marked" since I and my brother work in our father's haulage business. He runs only Bedfords and nothing else because not only are they the best but also very trouble-free; we get all our parts from the Bedford dealers, Shaw & Kilburn at Luton (who are part of SMT, I think). They run a daily service to Wycombe and if we ring them before 11 am, about 2-3 hours later in the afternoon the parts arrive. We think the Bedford parts service is very good indeed.

Every Bedford dealer cannot stock every single small nut and bolt; everybody only wants popular items. Anyway I can't see why Mr Matheson wants two nuts and bolts for his spare wheel carrier on his CF. Our CF is seven years old and has not worn them out yeti E. W. LINDSAY, M. G. LINDSAY, V. G.
