at the unavailability of approved brake modification kits for existing vehicles which will need to meet Ministry figures for stopping efficiency.

A Road Haulage Association spokesman told COMMERCIAL MOTOR this week that despite attempts to obtain kits, or information about modifications for specific vehicle models, no satisfactory kits or details had yet been received either from chassis makers or brake manufacturers. Suggestions that the Ministry had these details had not proved fruitful, he said, as the Ministry also seemed unaware of any suitable kits.
