I T has been agreed by Guildford Corporation that the present charge of 2s. for washing down and parking livestock vehicles at the town's market shall in future cover only washing down. There will be no charge for parking.

This follows representations made by the livestock carriers' committee of the Metropolitan and South-Eastern Area of the Road Haulage Association, who argued that the transport of livestock should be considered an integral part of the market's business, and that there should therefore be no charge for the facilities.

LOST PROPERTY INQUIRY

GOOD progress is being made by the Central Transport Consultative Committee with their investigation into the regulations relating to lost property found on public vehicles, the Minister of Transport announced last week. The matter was considered again by the committee on Tuesday of this week.
