STAGE COACH RUBS IT IN

A100-YEAR-OLD stage coach set out from Hyde Park Corner, London, last Sunday for Cardiff on a three-month tour to emphasize the need for better roads. The Roads Campaign Council, the organizers, say that " today's roads were built in the days of the stage coach and have hardly been improved since?'

The itinerary includes Swansea, Newport, Worcester, Birmingham, Gloucester and Bristol. After running a few miles out of London, the stage coach was loaded on to a lorry for the .remainder of its journey to Wales.

ROOTES AT DANISH SHOW

AWIDE variety of Rootes vehicles will be on show at the British Exhibition in Copenhagen which is being arranged by the Federation of British Industries from September 29October 16.

The vehicles which will be displayed by the Rootes distributors in Denmark, British Motors, A.S.. 19 Kristianiagada, Copenhagen, will include a Hillman Husky, a Karrier Bantam or Gamecock, and a Commer Superpoise 3-ton longwheelbase lorry or a Commer 7-ton short-wheelbase chassis with a petroltanker body.

Special engineering exhibits will include a sectioned Commer Ts3 oil engine.
