One of the five SETPOS sites is Ashford International Truckstop (AIT) at M20 junction 10. Security upgrades
have been part funded by SE I HOS, including refurbished CCTV systems. The improvements have included the replacement of communications links on existing systems; repositioning and overhaul of fixed camera points and the installation of an additional 360-degree unit New digital recording units increase options for image storage and retrieval, meaning that thieves will have their work cut out to avoid detection.
AIT has a 24-hour restaurant serving customers from all over Europe. Its menu Includes Hungarian gulasz (goulash); pierogi a Lithuanian cheese or mushroom ravioli served with onion and bacon; flak/ and bigos, both meat-based Polish dishes and Russian kotletai and kairninski. Prices begin at E5 a meal.
The first two hours daytime parking are free with any on-site purchase. Otherwise there is a flat rate of E1 per hour between 0700 to 1900.
Live entertainment and big-screen sports are available in the bar. Fridays are described as 'adult nights'. CM is not quite sure whether Label awards or deducts points for this type of event!
