I HAVE JUST picked up a copy of your magazine (CM 27 November 2008) and in it you ask: do you have an opinion? Well.! have.
live in Witney, Oxon, on the A40 trunk road and I use it often.
At night, without exception, every lay-by is full of HGVs. I know for a fact that there are no public toilets between Wheatly (Oxford) and Gloucester, and maybe even beyond that. It is a national disgrace that our truck drivers haven't got the basic facility of a toilet on a major trunk road.
Also, most drivers have to stand at the side of the road at some tumbledown old caravans that don't have toilets either, just to get some (often substandard) food.
I only wish I could do something about it and be a spokesperson for the driving fraternity I'd soon be knocking on ministers' doors demanding answers.
