Charity takes to the streets
ack in November Ray Dodd, boss of Dadtrs Transport, made it possible for the cancer charity HEAL to take part in the Lord Mayor's Parade by providing a brand new Volvo tractor and trailer. HEAL raises money for cancer research and holistic centres.
Riding alongside its float was the Pickwick Bicycle Club of London, whose members later set out on a sponsored cycle ride for HEAL to 12 European capitals. Travelling on board the
f:oat wits ;ibraltar Police Constable Frank Rawlinson; in March Frank will be taking part in the 13th Marathon des Sables in the Sahara desert, which will cover a total of 273km in six-and-a-half days. After that the intrepid hobby will be cycling from Gibraltar via Land's End to John O'Groats to raise funds for HEAL. Frank's certainly the sort of player you'd want on your side.
