IESPITE OBJECTIONS from ritish Rail, National Bus Cornany subsidiaries London Counry, Alder Valley and Southown have been successful in a id to launch a new Green Line oach service between Reading, iatwick Airport and Brighton. The South-Eastern Traffic :ommissioners had originally afused the licence because of le BR objection. BR feared un3ir competition with its Gatwick, luildford and Reading rail line. he objection had delayed the tart of the service but after a lublic hearing in December the ervice was granted a three year cence with a limit of eight ehicles to be used on the serice at any one time.
