The diesel rail service has been withdrawn to reduce Strathclyde Regional Council's public transport subsidy bill, and the group of replacement services is being publicised as Strathclyde Link Line.
Western SMT is providing an hourly express service linking Kilmacolm and other Gryffe Valley communities with Glasgow city centre, and is also increasing the frequency of the Paisley-Kilmacolm section of its Glasgow-Largs stopping service.
Strathclyde PTE is operating an express service between central Glasgow and the southwestern suburbs served by the withdrawn rail service, while Graham's of Paisley is operating between Bridge of Weir and Paisley or Govan Underground station.
No replacement services have been provided for passengers who used the railway between the Glasgow suburban stations and Paisley or the Gryffe Valley, but Strathclyde PTE will review the replacement services in late spring.
