Mr Bain has been involved in the personnel and training side of business ever since 1969 when he was working the personnel department of British Rail's Sundries Division. Don Smalley began his career in transport as an NEC management trainee. By 1972 he was operations manager with National Carriers at Derby. His last post was Midlands Area director for National Carriers Western Region.
Mr Tarrant joined the company at its formation in 1969 as a management services consultant. After working his way up through the company he moved to his previous position of marketing and sales manager for the eastern region in 1981, Max Tulk was previously chief engineer at the Falkirk branch of Scottish Road Services, an NEC subsidiary.
Mr Wright joined NFC as a research accountant.
