National officers of the National Guild of Transport Managers were elected at a meeting in London on Saturday. Seen here with the national secretary, F. P. Coult (centre, top) are (top) F. E. T. Davies, formerly general manager of Salopia Saloon Coaches Ltd, joins Harry W. B. Richards as joint managing director. I. J. Eaton, formerly deputy general manager. becomes general manager. Mr Richards continues as chairman, and Bryan Parkes (traffic), Stanley Povey (operations) and Ernest Abbott (company secretary) as executive directors.
R. B. Strachan, 44, has been appointed chairman of Hargreaves Vehicle Distributors Ltd, a subsidiary of Hargreaves Group Ltd, of which he is a director. He succeeds the late Mr Herbert Robinson.
A. Phelps has been appointed executive director—technical, of Dowty Seals Ltd. He has been chief chemist since 1969.
D. R. Cate has been appointed Cambridge branch manager, BRS Parcels Ltd. Latterly, he has been a management trainee: previously, he was an Eastern area representative.
