• Black cabs are being used on three new "taxibus" routes in and around Preston, Lancashire.
The services, which compete with Preston Transport buses, are run by taxi firm Pool Motors.
They operate from Monday to Thursday, and Friday and Saturday evenings, for a flat rate charge of 30p.
The cabs can carry up to six people and can pick up and set down on demand.
There are plans to introduce additional routes.
