costs £60,000

FROZEN FISH worth £60,000 was ruined in an Aberdeen haulage yard last week when vandals turned down the temperature dials on two refrigerated trailers.

Colin Strachan, MD of CDS Transport, says the fish started to defrost after the dials were turned down over the weekend.

The company now plans to install CCTV in a bid to increase security. "Incidents like this are bound to push up our insurance premiums," Strachan adds, "so it's an unpleasant situation all round."

The firm has been on its present site for less than a year — and this is the second time the yard has been broken into in the past three months.
