• GKD Technik has launched a BAGS Rated Capacity Indicator for lorry loader cranes. The device warns of crane overloading and complies with new leg islation for lorry loaders supplied after 1 January 1995.
Electronics measure the lifting ram pressure and angle of the boom.
An LED display indicates stability and an alarm sounds if the system is overloaded.
A motion cut-out device can be integrated into the system to stop the crane from operating if it is overloaded. In addition, there is an over-height warning option which can tell the operator if the crane is not stowed properly and will warn against possible bridge-bashing.
The GKD Technik system is available for both OEM and retro-fit applications. It costs under £1,000 (ex-VAT) installed and tested.
