• Four senior staff at Northern Scottish have resigned to set up a new bus company, Alexanders (North East), in direct competition with their former employers.

Northern Scottish operations manager Alan Riley, traffic officer Jim Melville, Buchan area manager Tony Davis and Fraserburgh inspector Lendie Smith all left the fu-rn three weeks ago. They were closely followed by 11 drivers who resigned to join ANE), according to Northern Scottish.

Riley says there are no plans to change the Glenhire name nor to significantly change its services, The new company will be moving into offices in Aberdeen, Peterhead and Fraserburgh in the next few days. It now employs almost 20 drivers and eight new vehicles are due to be delivered this week — four Volvo BlOMs and four Leyland Tigers with Plaxton bodywork.
