Brief Details of a Double-decker of Large Passenger-carrying

Capacity.

AN ILLUSTRATION which we publish on this page shows one of a number of Continental-built double-deck motorbuses which. have recently been supplied for service in South America. The chassis consists of the Saurer Co.'s standard 4-ton type in which a 55-60 h.p. four-cylinder engine is employed. The body incorporates a number of features not to be found on types of double-. decker with which we in this country are familiar, and was built by the Zwickauer Pahrzeugfabrik Vorinals Schu

mann Gesellschaft, of Zwickau, Saxony.

It is built to seat 56 passengers, 30 of whom are accommodated "On.the upper deck. Entrances RTC provided both fore and aft, this provision having been made in view of the fact that the regulations of the district in which the vehicle is employed permit half-a-dozen.passengers to stand at busy dines of the day by the side of the driver awl a similar number by the ectiductor. Thus it will be seen that the vehicle when loaded to capacity provides accommodation for 6S people.
