Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

It's amazing how many parallels there are between the animal world and road transport. Both have predators. Both have a pecking order. And within both you'll find symbiotic relationships between two species who've got together in a mutuallybeneficial pact. That's how it should be with hauliers and RDCs. The RDCs need the hauliers. The hauliers need the RDCs. Only that relationship is well and truly out of kilter. Talk to any operator, big or small, about RDCs and the conversation's apt to turn into the famous: "Is this a five-minute moan or the full half-hour?"

And yet it's in the hands of the RDC operators to solve the problem. Do provide decent facilities for drivers and treat them like human beings. Don't tie up expensive equipment for hours on end or expect operators to hit tight delivery windows when the IsA6 has been dosed. Do people really think RDC problems are all down to congestion? Not according to the calls we've had. And as for expecting the retailer to solve the problem... well, what do you think? If the defenders of RDCs think the complaints are all
