The Goods Vehicles (Community Authorisations) (Modification of the Road Traffic (Foreign Vehicles) Act 1972) Regulations 2002. CIF 1July 2002. Modifies the 1972 Act to empower examiners to prohibit the driving of a foreign vehicle where a Community Authorisation is not held.

The Removal and Disposal of Vehicles (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2002. CIF 9 April 2002. Amends the existing regulations by reducing the notice perlod, where a local authority proposes to remove an abandoned vehicle that is in such a condition that it ought to be destroyed, from seven days to 94 hours. The amendment also reduces the period during which the owner of the vehicle, which is not in a condition that it ought to be destroyed, is required to remove it from custody from 21to seven days. After that period, the authority may dispose of the vehicle providing there is no licence in

force for that vehicle.

The Vehicle Excise Duty (Immobilisation, Removal and Disposal of Vehicles) (Amendment) Regulations 2002. CIF 9 April 2002. Amends the existing regulations, which provide for the removal and disposal of unlicensed vehicles found stationary on a public road, by reducing the period for which a vehicle of no economic value must be retained before disposal.

The Goods Vehicles (Plating and Testing) (Amendment) Regulations 2002. CIF 1 April 2002. Amend the existing rags by increasing HGV test fees. Far example, the fee payable for a test of a motor vehicle with two axles is increased by 5.3% to £40.

The Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) (Amendment) Regulations 2002. CIF 1March 2002. Amendment allows manufacturers to specify the relevant limit for fast idling speeds, in relation to in-service exhaust emission limits.

Adds the offence of causing death by careless driving while under the influence of drink or drugs to the list of offences requiring a driving test to be taken before a disqualified driver can start driving again.
