• Fiat has announced the UK prices and specifications of its Scudo van, the first of the "mini-Sevels" to be seen here. On sale from 2 September, the Scudo is a small panel van with a GVW of 2.2 tonnes and a nominal payload of 800kg; it will compete against sister models from Peugeot and Citroen, the new Mercedes Vito and established vehicles such as Nissan's Vanette Cargo, the VW Transporter and the Ford Transit 80.
It fits into Fiat's range between the Florin° high-cube van and the Ducat() panel van. be sold in the UK with n: aspirated and turboc' variants of a 1.9-litre die
Both versions promis( volume of 4.0m3 and a t load of 740kg, and Fiat c range of more than 701 from the Scudo's suggesting fuel consumi around 40mpg.
