• Government plans for a national Environment Agency to take control of waste regulation from local authorities will help waste hauliers, says the National Association of Waste Disposal Contractors.
It follows criticism of the proposals from three local authority bodies, who say local waste control works best. But NAWDC says contractors are often frustrated by different interpretations of the law by neighbouring councils.
