THE production of heavy-duty tractor units for special types haulage of oversize and overweight loads is to be doubled from this month, Foden announced this week.
The company claims that by increasing production and thereby reducing delivery time its range of heavy-duty vehi cles will be more competitive.
Foden markets a 45-ton twoaxled unit, and 75-ton and 100ton three-axled units. The company is also preparing plans for a 150-ton vehicle which is to be shown to operators for evaluation. This tractive unit will have an imposed load capacity of 40 tons.
