Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

The BCRU, funded by Yorkshire Forward, has set up the Logistics Security Network and the North Sea Freight Intelligent Transport Solutions (NS FRITS).

The former was established in October 2009 and devised from existing Yorkshire and Humberside truckwatch schemes, and since then has attracted 60 new users, bringing membership to 320. It works with key stakeholders, such as the police. Yorkshire Forward. Road Haulage Association and Crimestoopers, to fight crime across the region.

According to the BCALJ, between October and December 2009, 20% of all reported UK freight crime occurred in the Yorkshire and Humber region, costing business £860,000.

This free service offers more than just news alerts of local truck crimes, we are actively working with hauliers or not just where to avoid crimes, but on how to prevent them happening to your firm,"

says Claire Ward, Logistics Security Network project administrator.

Companies are entitled to a free site security survey to discuss where security improvements can be made. In addition, it holds secure parking seminars detailing truck stops it considers to be genuinely secure.

Meanwhile, a teiematics system devised for NS FRiTS will be piloted from July until June 2011. A spokeswoman for the organisation explains: "It is a device that will incorporate several sources of information digitally to lorry drivers who are travelling across the Continent. This could include maps of secure parking locations, crime hotspot areas and even offer pictures of the police uniform of each country so drivers can be wary of any impersonators who may try and hijack a truck."

Drivers operating frequently around the Port of Bremerhaven, Germany, will be the first pilot participants.
