DSV in 2010 is focusing on new business and this has already seen returns. DSV Road received a two-year contract in February to distribute beers, wines and spirtts for Marks & Spencer from the high street giant's UK suppliers to its distribution centre in Daventry, Northants.
Olesen teases that DSV has a "big European contract" starting in May He has spent the past few weeks finalising the deal, which he will only describe as "very significant".
The DSV chief is targeting the entertainment industry as a sector for growth in 2010. Olsen says: 'We are getting into a completely new industry for us, and that is the entertainment industry. We have got all the credentials to go in, and ills an industry we have been looking at. Now we have got the angle into this [sector]: we call it DSV Entertainment Logistics_ It is Kicking off because it was a small investment we had to make to get into a market that very few players control at this time.
