Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Leyland Daf will launch two eightleggers at TipCon on 22-24 April to sell alongside the 85CF FAD 340. The flagship 85CF FAD 380 is aimed at the heavy-duty muckaway market, weighing in at around 700kg more than the existing 340. It has a 7mm frame with straight-beam front axles for extra ground clearance: the clearance under the 85CF 380's rear axles is now 340mm.

The 380 features a high-torque derivative of the Dar 12.6-litre, 24-valve engine, producing 1,750Nm (1,290Ibft) at 1,100rpm.

The new tipper is rated at 40 tonnes on the Continent—it has a heavy-duty rear bogie and Daf's 1355T hub-reduction axles with a 13-tonne capacity per axle. Transmission is either by the Eaton 12-speed Twin Splitter or a ZF eight-speeder.

Also being launched at TipCon is the Oaf 75CF FAD 320 which is 250kg lighter than its 340 stablemate and is designed primarily for on-road use on bulker tanker and aggregate operations. The 320 uses the same chassis as the 340 but with a slightly lower-mounted cab; its 9.2-litre engine develops 1,275Nm (940Ibft) of torque.

List prices start at £65,870 for the 75CF FAD 320; £68,870 for the 85CF FAD 340; and £72,660 for the top-of-therange 85CF FAD 380.
