THE transport department of Edinburgh 1-Corporation is now introducing the first of its new vehicles purchased under the plan announced in 1965 involving 125 Leyland Atlanteans and 25 Titans as vehicle replacements over the 1966-8 period.

The first of the new Atlanteans has been put jilt() service. Twenty-four more of these double-deckers will be brought into service this year and 50 more in each of 1967 and 1968. The first of the Titans are in process of delivery. The existing fleet of 60 single-deck buses operating on route I are to be withdrawn gradually and replaced by 40 double-deckers as part of this programme.
