Alloa last week the Scottish deputy Licensing Authority, Mr. L. A. Wells, suspended one vehicle of Stalker Bros., of Tullibody, for 12 months following a Section 178 inquiry.

Mr. Wells said there were several instances of fines imposed for badly maintained vehicles, and four immediate and deferred GV9s had been issued in the last six months of 1965. A Ministry vehicle examiner gave evidence regarding a recent examination when it was found necessary to prohibit immediately the use of all the three vehicles authorized. He said there was no regular system of maintenance and he had been told by Mr. P. Stalker that a mechanic just looked in to see what was needed each weekend.
