Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Several lorry loader manufacturers are unveiling new models at the IAA Show in Frankfurt next week, including HMF, Palfinger and Hiab.

All of Palfinger's new models feature welded high-grade steel base units which are lighter and stronger than cast steel, says the company. All the new cranes have fewer hoses, more lift, longer reach and increased stabiliser width without any major increase in weight. All the pipes and guide rails are set close to the frame, reducing the stowed width to a typical 6ocimm on a 7-8tm crane. For example, the PK600t single-linkage crane replaces the workhorse PK5000. For just thkg of extra weight, it offers 18% more lift, 2.3m extra reach and soomm more stabiliser width.

HMF 760 and 910 cranes will also debut at Frankfurt with a new design of stand-up controls, up to four hydraulic extensions and an HMF radio remote control.

HMF is also launching its patented Electronic Vehicle Stability (EVS) system which increases the capacity of a loader by compensating for the changing stability of the vehicle and its load. The EVS-system monitors the loader in its entire slewing area, ensuring the vehicle is stable in all situations—in a narrow street, for example, where there might not be room to fully extend the stabiliser beams.

PM Cranes has introduced a 34tm twin-linkage demountable crane for the portable building and container market. The crane is mounted at the rear of the trailer when lifting containers and buildings; for offloading heavy machinery it is mounted at the front. The unit has twin telescopic booms and stabilisers at the front and rear.
