• A paper "The new transportation grants" will be presented to the Association of Public Passenger Transport Operators Association's conference later this month by Mr F. Tolson, the city treasurer of Leeds.
Delegates to the conference, which is being held at the Adelphi Hotel, Liverpool, on September 24 to 28, will also take part in a question and answer session. A number of prepared questions on subjects like grants for new vehicles, rationalization of public transport and the effects of monopolies on bus operation will be put to a panel.
The panel will consist of Ald N. Harris (chairman, Southend district council), Cllr C. L. Worthington (vice-chairman, Nottingham transport committee), 1. Cunningham (general manager, Bournemouth Corporation transport department). W. H. Lawrence (sales manager, MetroCammell Weymann Ltd), D. R. Smith (general manager, Cardiff transport) and A. T. Webster (sales and marketing director, British Leyland truck and bus division).
