DRY-CHARGED batteries are now being introduced by the Ford Motor Co., Ltd., for Thames vehicles. At the time of manufacture, each cell is sealed and the filler caps are not removed until the battery is prepared for use. Batteries can remain in a dry state for up to six months.

The company have increased the recommended running-in speeds for their products. Maximum top-gear speeds for 5-cwt. and 7-cwt. vans is 40 m.p.h., and for all heavier models, 35 m.p.h. (subject to speed limits in Britain). A period of 500 miles is advised for running-in.
