Programme for the 1905-1906 Session.—It was decided to fix the meetings only for the first half of the coming winter session, and certain modifications were made in the provisional list which had been discussed at an earlier meeting.* The chairman, Mr. R. Bell, consented to read a paper at the first in camera meeting of the members on "A Synopsis of Present-day Motor Omnibus Construction from the Operating Engineer's Standpoint." In regard to the opening general meeting on October 9th, to which associates will be admitted, it was unanimously resolved that the inaugural address should be given by Mr. F. C. A. Coventry, the chairman of the society. Resignation of a member.—A letter was read from Mr. W. Turner Smith, late engineer-in-charge to the Eastbourne Corporation, intimating that he was no longer in charge of a motor omnibus service, although he was undertaking consulting duties for the Eastbourne Corporation. In the course of his letter, Mr. W. Turner Smith intimated that he feared he would no longer be qualified to remain a member of the society or of the council, and that he left the matter to the decision of his colleagues. It was unanimously resolved, on the motion of the chairman, seconded by Mr. P. Frost Smith—" That Mr. Turner Smith be thanked for his valuable assistance in helping to form the society, and be informed that, in the opinion of the council, he is no longer eligible for membership of the society or of the council." Mr. Turner Smith heartily concurred in this view, having regard to the objects of the society and its constitution, and intimated that his company, the Motor Omnibus Construction Co., Ltd., of 7, Moorgate Street, E.C., would join the associate class and nominate him as its representative.

Cheques were signed and other business of a routine character was transacted.
