• A group of independent hauliers which has formed a cost-cutting purchasing cooperative Is opening a new Office in Scotland.
Hacketts 136 Associates is appealing for Scottish members to sign up with its new branch in Aberdeen which is due to be launched at the beginning of November.
Managing director Steve Hackett says he has won real savings for the current Englandbased membership with some 900 haulers having benefited
from his organisation's purchasing power. Typical savings for owner-drivers are said to include 1.25p/lit off fuel bills and 14.50 per month off mobile phone hills.
Hackett adds that his organisation is in touch with 78 suppliers across 25 services including insurance companies and manufacturers—and supplier's are now approaching Nrn to sell to his members.
