Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE original practical handbook on the motorcar and motoring has now , reached its 25th edition. Since its introduction in the early 'days of the popular motoring movement its total sale has reached more than 650,000. copies. At times the demand was so heavy that large reprints soon sold out. Successive editions have kept pace with motoring developments, and the main object of "The Motet. Manual" has always been to serve as an all-round practical handbook OD the fundamental principles and construction of motorcars and their management and upkeep ; in short, it provides all the information the motorist should have to hand. It is written in a lucid, non-technical style and is profusely illustrated, and in the new edition there are an additional 120 new illustrations and a very instructive frontispiece comprising a large scale section of an up-to-date car with overhead valves, front-wheel brakes, etc. Every part of a car is dealt with, and the reader should have no difficulty in obtaining a correct idea of the problems of lubrication, carburation, ignition, the gearboX, the working of a differential, the operation of front-wheel brakes, etc. The latest types of wheel and low pressure tyres; are dealt with, whilst different styles of bodywork are given adequate reference.

Large sections of the book deal with simplified technical definitions, formula, useful tables, motoring law, touring, an extensive glossary of technical terms explained in simple. language; in fact, The Motor Manual" is a veritable motoring encyclopzetlia in condensed form, and as such is indispensable to the beginner and valuable for referenoe to ,the experienced motorist. The new edition has been largely rewritten and re-illustrated and brought up to date. It is published by Temple Press Ltd., 7-15, Rosebery Avenue, London, E.0.1., at 2s. 6d. net, or 2s. 9d. post free, and can be had from leading newsagents and booksellers,
