Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Trafficmaster has introduced a digital in-vehicle receiver which warns of motorway jams ahead. The Freeway system gathers data from motorway bridge-mounted infra-red sensors. A voice chip in the device gives a spoken warning.

At present the system is confined to the motorway network but will be extended to cover the A-roads as more sensors are installed. Freeway can give drivers their position and relay information on the traffic conditions up to two junctions or 10 miles ahead, which ever is the greater. The receiver can pick up transmissions within half a mile of a motorway.

No additional wiring is needed; the battery powered Freeway can be mounted using two Velcro pads. The recommended retail price is 09.99, which includes the first 12month £24 air-time contract.
