MR, F. HAMMOND, of the Overseas Department of the Dunlop Rubber Co., Ltd., in London, has been appointed district manager in Cape Town of Dunlop South Africa, Ltd.
MR. G. E, BEEIARRELL, managing director, Dunlop Rubber Co., Ltd., has been elected president of the Tyre Manufacturers' Conference, in succession to the late Sir Harold Kenward.
MR. E. S. TOMPKINS and MR. M. LANGSTRETH, manager of the product performance division of Dunlop's technical department and deputy general manager of Dunlop Cotton Mills, respectively, have left for the company's factory in. Calcutta, for technical discussions.
MR. W. T. JAMES, 0.B.E., has become managing director of the Western Welsh Omnibus Co., Ltd. Until 1943, when he joined the executive staff of the British Electric Traction Co., Ltd., he was general manager of the Western Welsh Co., of which MR. J. S. Wins, .managing director, B.E.T., is chairman. SIR FRANCIS FLOUD is retiring from the chairmanship of the Road Haulage Central Wages Board. •

Ma. D. W. PLAISTOWE, commercial manager, has been appointed a director of the GlaCier Metals Co., Ltd.
MR, H. C. DRAYTON is chairman of the board of the British Electric Traction Co., Ltd. The other directors are:— Ma. J. S. WILLS (managing), MR. S. E. GARCKE, MR. R. J: HOWLEY, MR, ALLAN MILLER, MR. P. D. TUCKETT, and LORD ROTHES. MR, J. W. WOMAR has become an additional director of B.E.T. Omnibus Services, Ltd.. and not of the former concern.
MR. F. A. POPE, C.I.E., vice-president of the London, Midland and Scottish Railway Co., and formerly manager of the L.M.S. (Northern Counties Committee), has accepted the invitation of the Northern Ireland Minister of Commerce to become a member of the Northern Ireland Road Transport Board. As the EARL OF ENNISKILLEN wishes to resign the chairmanship of the Board, the Minister intends to designate Mr. Pope as chairman from January 1 next. Mr. Pope is also to act as the Minister's adviser in general transport• matters.
