Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Keywords : Tipper, Karrier, G, Volvo

THE DENNIS Delta 1618 road test report (CM, March 5) fell short of your usual standards of accuracy by including in the performance charts figures for the tipper version of the Dodge Commando 2 G16 model rather than the comparable highway specification Commando. Very respectable as 10.21mpg may be for a 16-ton tipper (Bill Brock described the Dodge as "quick, comfortable and sparing of fuel" on May 15, 1982), the figures you published create entirely the wrong impression when shown alongside those returned by highway versions of the Ford Cargo, Volvo F6 and the Dennis. When the original Commando G16 test appeared in October 1981 the fuel consumption of 13.57mpg established a CM best-ever result, which to my knowledge remains unchallenged. Had you included it in the March 5 issue, the Dodge Corm: mando would have gone clean off the top of the chart.
