Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE NATIONAL Freight Consortium is about to launch into the car auction business with a newly formed division, Carauctions, part of Cartransport which itself is a subsidiary of the Pickfords group.

Diversification into the car auction field will increase the opportunities for Cartransport to gain return loads. The company delivers to about 2,000 dealerships nationally.

The NFC car auction site based at Stoke on Trent will be in direct competition with established car auctions headed by British Car Auctions which has 13 sites, Central Motor Auctions which has seven sites and Motor Auction Group with three sites as well as the 50 or so single site operators.

Cartransport has 160 transporter vehicles in current operation and 20 rail trucks operating nationally.

Existing car fleets, to be followed next year by commercial vehicle fleets of the various NFC companies, will provide a valuable source of business.

The Stoke site is the first of a nationally planned network of Carauctions. The NFC property group has several ideally placed sites which it is anxious to capitalise upon.

Initially, Carauctions expects to deal with up to 200 cars and light vans twice weekly on Monday evenings and Wednesday afternoons and will have two Cartransporter vehicles allocated for its sole use.
