Dr West Lothian operators

Following convictions recently of a irnber of coach operators at Linlithgow ieriff Court (CM March 26), Mr George ounger, Under-Secretary of State for :Wand, has told Mr Tam Dalyell, MP for 'est Lothian, that operators of private ■ aches and minibuses require road service ences before they can provide services. He was replying to observations by Mr alyell, who claims there is a need for private operators in West, Lothian to transport workers to factories, particularly in the Livingston area. In a letter to Mr Dalyell, Mr Younger said: "Any prosecutions of private operators are initiated because the operators are considered by the police to be breaking the law, which requires them to obtain a road service licence before providing a bus service."
