• Next Monday, May 17. sees the opening of the fourth International Materials Handling Exhibition at Glasgow's Kelvin Hall until Saturday May 22. Over 100 major British and overseas companies will be represented at what has been termed a "working" exhibition designed to attract those involved in reducing non-productive costs by employing up-to-date handling techniques.

The theme of the exhibition is "Production up—costs down" and to underline this objective a conference, specially organized by the Scottish division of the Institute of Materials Handling and devoted entirely to the problems and techniques of financing new plant and installations, will be held concurrently.

Among the exhibitors will be Lansing' Bagnall Ltd with a full range of fork-lift trucks and a display emphasizing the group's servicing, rental, operator training and regenerated fork-truck facilities.

For the first time in the UK, Toyota Motor Sales of Japan will be showing a selection of counterbalanced fork-lift trucks. These trucks feature the latest Toyota design innovations and are being shipped from Japan specially for the exhibition.

Examples from the range of industrial trucks, tractors and trailers manufactured by R. A. Lister and Co Ltd will be on show including the latest addition to the range, the model 4D4 The exhibition will be open daily from 10 am.
