NAEMBERS of the Grimsby sub-area IVI of the Road Haulage Association are pressing their national council not to defer an increase in charges. Originally it was proposed that the five per cent increase should become operative on June I; now it has been suggested that this should be delayed for at least a month.
When this, and the announcement that road haulage rates are to be considered by the National Board for Prices and Incomes was discussed at a recent subarea meeting, it was stated that the costs which made the increase necessary were not being held back and it was considered unreasonable to ask members to shoulder the burden.
