They were giving evidence for Fellside Transport, Ltd., La:tor-thy, near Penrith, who wished to add an extra vehicle to their A licence. Fewer head of cattle had been carried by the concern in i past three years because of concentration on the transport of pigs.
Sometimes it took five hours to pick up a load. The company were unable to satisfy their regular customers.
