Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Kent-based MAN and LDV dealership Thameside Truck Centre and its sister firm Thameside Vehicle Hire have gone into receivership with debts close to a million pounds.

The companies' banker, Lloyds, last week appointed receiver Coopers & Lybrand after it was revealed bank debts alone topped £800,000.

Early indications show the Swanscombe-based truck dealer with a £15m turnover may have tried to expand too quickly.

Both firms will continue to trade under administrative receivership for the forseeable future and will continue to carry out truck servicing and maintenance.

A spokeswoman for Coopers says the search is now on to find a buyer and that the firms can be sold together or separately. Both MAN and LDV are understood to be backing the sale of both companies.

Anyone interested in buying the dealer or truck hire firms should contact Christine Ainsworth at Coopers & Lybrand on 0171 212 6178.
