• The Metropolitan Police is appealing to truck operators for any information about a red trailer known to have been carried by the lorry that blew up Canary Wharf last month.
The anti-terrorist branch want to hear from anyone with details about the home-made, non-standard trailer abandoned in River Road, Barking, Essex. The police know it was carried by the Ford Cargo on its final journey on 9 February.
Anyone who recognises the trailer, has information on a former owner or who saw anyone working on the trailer before the explosion, should contact the anti terrorist branch's confidential hotline on 0800 789 321.
The police are asking drivers to follow a few guidelines when making deliveries to try to keep disruption to a minimum.
• If there is more than one person making the delivery, make sure one stays with the vehicle to avoid leaving it unattended.
• Lone drivers having to leave the vehicle, should write a note saying where he or she is, explaining how they can be contacted and how long the vehicle will be there.
