COMMERCIAL VEHICLE sale dropped last month from Feb ruary 1980's 25,938 to onl, 17,509. This 32.5 per cent fal meant the lowest Februar figure since 1976.

Truck and artic sales dropper from 6,064 to 3,576 vehicles with Ford, the leader, fallinc from 1,456 to 847. Leylanc Vehicles dropped from 1,026 tc 614, and Bedford from 777 tc 649.

Sales of car-derived vans fel from 7,567 to 5,316, with Forc again the leader. Its sales dropped from 3,012 to 2,104, and BL, which came second, recorded a fall from 2,161 to 1,469.

The settlement, which followed a two-week strike, was worked out by the country's Labour Court, and comprises a 1r£111.85 (£87.24) basic pay, 1r£17.50 (£13.65) productivity award, eight per cent plus 1r£1 (78p) first phase of the National Understanding, and 1r£4.15 (£3.24) relativity award,
