Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Management without jargon

DECISION-making, planning and management control in road transport and the methods and techniques available to effect them are the motivation of R. G. Basset, management development adviser, Road Transport Industry Training Board, in compiling his book "'Road transport management and accountingpublished by William Heinernann at £4.75 (hardback) or £3.50 (limp covers).

The book is divided into three parts; road transport management, costing and pricing fleet operations, and financial planning and control. It is written in plain, straightforward language, seems to avoid the jargon which is so beloved of the modern management theorist and is provided with numerous examples to illustrate the points made.

Accepting that most transport managers — especially those who have been in the industry for considerable time — have accumulated a great deal of expertise, one must admit that there is always something new to learn or perhaps a different way of doing things. A book like this is, therefore, always well worth reading. The student will find it invaluable.
