PLANS for a new lorry park at Leazes Park, Newcastle, are being challenged by one of the City's MPs, Sir William Elliott, who is demanding an inquiry into the need for another park in the area — particularly since recreational and sports facilities would be lost.
He is asking Newcastle City Council to carry out a traffic count at existing lorry parks in the area before further steps are taken.
