Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Exhibit :-40h.p. Bus; 5-ton Lorry; 4oh.p. Bus Chassis.

The company is to be congratulated Upon the exceedingly handsome and eminently practical motorbus chassis which is on exhibition. The whole of the chassis is polished, and this feature, coupled with the numerous good points of the design, make it rank with the most interesting exhibits to be found at Olympia. One of the latest improvements is the adoption of a suction governing valve, which supersedes the former centrifugal governor. This governing valve is situated at a point from which the two horizontal branches of the induction pipe leave the short up. right section above the carburetter. The valve is placed horizontally, and is cylindrical in form. It slides in a chamber, and when fully "in " shuts off the mixture almost entirely. The valve is normally drawn outwards by a spring, and by adjusting this spring the engine can be made to run at any speed before it sucks the valve inwards, and, in so doing, throttles the engine. A patented lever control is fitted, and this is extremely ingenious in operation.

The engine is rated at 4oh.p., but will give out considerably more if necessary. The inlet valves are placed immediately over the exhaust valves, and are actuated by overhead rockers. A new clutch stop is also introduced; this takes the form of a short lever, of the change-speed type, and works in a ratchet placed beside the driver. Pushing the lever forward simultaneously depresses the clutch-pedal and withdraws the clutch.

The patented form of spring drive consists of a triangular under-frame, supported in front by a universal joint held in a transverse member. The rear ends of the triangle sides are carried loosely upon the back axle. This supplementary frame is the bearing for the differential shaft, which rotates the driving wheels by pinions and gear rings. The main frame is well calculated to withstand severe work, and is an excellent bit of work.
