Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Exhibit :—One 20h.p. 3-ton Lorry.

The distinguishing feature of the Orion chassis is the horizontal engine lying longitudinally in the frame.. The 3-ton lorry on show has a two-cylinder engine, the bore and piston stroke of which are, respectively, 160mm. by iffornm. The cylinders are opposed, and radiating fins are cast upon the head of each. The inlet valves are automatic, whilst the exhaust valves are controlled by a short camshaft, which lies between the ends of the valve stems driven from the crankshaft. High-tension magneto ignition is used, and the armature is driven by a light chain from an extension of the crankshaft. The radiator is carried near the middle of the main frame; it is of the gilled-tube pattern, and the cooling fan is placed at the side of the radiator, the drive being by a long belt from the engine. The water-circulating pump is gear-driven from the crankshaft. Two systems arc used for the lubrication of the engine. The big-ends are fed with oil by two tubes, which are led from a reservoir on the dash; these pass through the crank chamber, just above the crank pins. The crankshaft bearings are fed with grease from two Stauffer cups, which are bolted to the dash beside the oil reservoir.

The gear-box contains four speeds and a reverse, and a departure has been made from the former method of changing the gears. The previous models had the change-speed lever upon the steering, but, now, a side lever is used as being more convenient. The steering, also, has been altered from a rack and pinion action to a worm or sector. Serviceable chain guards are fitted, which enclose the front sprocket, and extend well over the large chain wheels. The guards have large circular inspection doors in their sides, so that the radius rods can be adjusted, or the chains inspected, without removing any part of the attachments. These vehicles enjoy a large sale on the Continent, being of Swiss manufacture, and they are now enjoying an increasing use in England.
